“Playing at sea” - Bunaken, Indonesia. May 2010.
Isn’t it fun that you can take a boat and row yourself to sea like these children here? The waves are not strong, that’s why it’s perfectly safe (and good news for you who are prone to sea-sickness).

The sea is very quiet in Bunaken, which makes it easy for people to snorkel. See, no waves.

Liang Beach, Bunaken, Indonesia. May 2010.
Bunaken is famous for its coral reefs, and one of the easier access options in Indonesia if you like to snorkel and dive. I haven’t had my diving license yet, so we made a one-day trip to Bunaken from Manado (only 45 minutes speed boat ride) and snorkeled around Liang Beach area. On the background you can see Manado Tua (Old Manado) which is a dormant volcano next to Bunaken Island.

“View of Manado Bay” from Bumi Beringin Restaurant, Manado, Indonesia. May 2010.
Bumi Beringin is a bit of an overpriced Minahasa-Indonesian restaurant. The food is great, but the locals just wont pay the price that they offer only just for the food. What you do get is the nice view from the area overlooking Manado Bay, and also the nice colonial setting that the restaurant have.

About:

I like to travel, I like to eat, I like to take photos, and I might have one or two comments in between. Someday I hope National Geographic will finance me to the Pyramids of Giza and Machu Picchu. Studied law but got lost among the regulations - prefer to be lost inside the forests instead.

All of the photos in this blog are taken by me, unless stated otherwise. Reblogs are welcome provided that you still keep my original link. :)
